What did I learn this week?  This week, I learned about the eight characteristics of living things and more details about what they are. I also learned about the dormant and active states of seeds. It was interesting to know that when a source is fixed, it is not alive. I learned that the head needs to wait for the right conditions to revive itself again. This means that the seed needs to wait for something special to happen; for example, if given water, warmth, or light, it will show the characteristics of a living thing.  Can you relate to what you learned with what you already knew?  While learning in the lab this week, I could relate to what I learned in elementary school in class. I have never had experience with NGSS before, so I was confused about the new information about standards that were given in class. At first, figuring out the labels that are in the standard was very confusing, which was saying the grade level and if it was "Life Science" or another discipline. What was clear was how Next Generation Science Standards differ from other standards used in the past.  Can y...
