Week 14
What did you learn in this week's activity?
We talked about the different ways to change a lesson to fit all groups that would be in a classroom. The various groups can be the average and middle section of the students who would ideally learn the curriculum the teacher has set. Then, two other groups would have to have modifications. The higher-end group might need changes to the lesson because they will finish the worksheets or activities quickly and would need more time to spend on them. The other group at the arch's lower end would require modifications to help them speed up their work. For example, this group might have more difficulty reading, so they would need pictures that can help get them to the next step faster. Ultimately, these modifications would keep all students at similar paces.
How would you use what you learned in your future teachings?
I would definitely be doing those modifications to make sure all my students are learning at the levels they are at. It is essential to make those modifications so students are not falling behind or, for the gifted students, so they are not becoming bored with school and don't care as much about their learning. Another thing that I would do in my future teachings is the flip book video that we did in class. Having students explain a concept for other students to know helps those students making the explanation learn more about their topic and become advanced on that topic as well. The flip book is an excellent way for students to practice this.
Questions:
